Scientists have developed a way to spy on what goes on under the ocean without spooking marine animals: octopus robots. The Foundation for Research & Technology-Hellas (FORTH) has designed a robot octopus that looks and moves like a real octopus. It is made out of silicon and contains microfluidic channels which pumps air and fluid through its body in order to create the natural movement of an octopus. The robot octopus is capable of carrying small objects between its tentacles. It can be used for military uses as well as observing marine life.
