Rhodonite is an uncommon silicate mineral found around the world in a few small deposits. Massachusetts made rhodonite their state gem. It comes in a pink or red color and often contains iron, magnesium, and calcium. Some of rhodonite’s physical properties include a hardness of between 5.5 to 6.5 on Mohs hardness scale, high specific gravity, and perfect cleavage. High quality crystals of this mineral can sell for high prices because of how rare they are.
