Until now, the process of additive manufacturing would often result in cracks in the material being made. NanoSteel Co., a company that makes nanostructured steel materials design, was finally able to build a crack-free, fully dense metallic part through additive manufacturing. This is a huge breakthrough because now parts will not need post-processing which will reduce costs and time. The metallic part that NanoSteel created has hardness values over 1000 HV.
