Largest Hydroelectric Plant | GRHardnessTester.comIn terms of generating capacity, China’s Three Gorges Dam is the world’s largest hydroelectric plant.  The project costed China $25 billion to construct.  It is made up of 463,000 tons of rolled steel and 21 million cubic yards of concrete.  That’s enough steel to build 63 Eiffel Towers.  Though the dam is a major source of renewable power, generating 18,000 megawatts or power, its disadvantages might weigh out its advantages.  The dam has created a number of issues including detrimental impacts on the environment, flooded cities, spiraling costs, and human rights violations.
